Middle School Dress Code - Sayre School

•jeans,•ʺspaghettiʺ strapped shirts (all straps should be a minimum of one and one half inches wide),•low cut shirts,• hats, outdoor wear (ie. coats, jackets),• ripped clothing, or athletic apparel.Males: Clothing that IS permitted includes:•dress shorts (when the weather is appropriate),•slacks,•buttoned-down shirts (tucked in),•turtlenecks,•knit shirts with a collar,•sweaters,•Sayre knit collared shirts (all shirts tucked in),•Sayre sweatshirts with or without a hood (a shirt must be worn underneath),•fleeces,•tennis shoes,•leather sandals,•dress shoes, and•clogs.Please note:•belts are worn with all pants having belt loops;•it is expected that all shorts be of an appropriate length and that no oversized slacks or shortswill be worn.Clothing that is not permitted includes:•any clothing with words or lettering (other than Sayre School),•oversized slacks or shorts,•denim (whether it be blue, black, white, red, etc.),•sweatshirts that do not say Sayre,•non-leather sandals,•flip flops of any kind,•t-shirts,•jeans,•hats, outdoor wear (ie. coats, jackets),•ripped clothing, or athletic apparel.Special Program Dress: Special Program Dress is worn on a number of occasions throughoutthe academic year, specifically when a special program is scheduled. Males wear slacks, tuckedindress shirts, ties, sport jackets, and dress shoes. Females wear dresses, skirts or formal dresspants and tops, and dress shoes (with no more than a two inch heel). Special Program Dress isdressier than regular school dress.P. E. Dress: Gym shirts (including Sayre t-shirts), appropriate gym shorts, and athletic shoes arerequired for all P. E. classes. These may be purchased from the Spartan Shop. Short shorts arenot permitted.
