With a relative crankshaft vibration angle of 0.8° onthe normal FSI engine, the increased crankshaft vibration angle of 2° on the turbocharged FSI engine ismuch more noticeable. Due to the increased load of the chain drive, the chain would be subjected toincreased wear if there were no countermeasures. Therefore, there are curved springs in the hub of thechain sprocket.
