An Introduction To <strong>Recruitment</strong>Chairmen ResponsibilitiesSC-<strong>Cottey</strong> Chair / AC-Area Chair / CC-Chapter Chair / AR-Admission Rep / ARV-AR VisitPurposeS/P/D Chairmen (SC) Area Chairmen (AC) Chapter Chairmen (CC)To bridge the communication gapbetween the <strong>College</strong> and the <strong>Cottey</strong>Chairmen and assist in overallrecruitment.To promote <strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong> with thechapter chairmen and prospectivestudents within their designatedarea.Report to: Admission Representative (AR) S/P/D Chairmen Area ChairmenDuties • Assist Area Chairmen in planningtraining sessions for ChapterChairmen• Disseminate Inquiry Reports toArea Chairmen• Educate AC and AR regardingstate travel funds and/or annualbus trips• Organize training sessions forall chapter chairmen in yourarea• Disseminate Inquiry Reports(specific to city) to ChapterChairmen• Inform CC regarding s/p/d travelfunds and/or annual bus tripsTo build individual relationshipswith prospective students andtheir families.• Relay student correspondencedirectly with admissionrepresentative• Refer to AC with any questionsor any requests for assistancein recruiting effortsStudents• Submit contact informationto <strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong> for any newprospective student• Disseminate Inquiry Reports to ACASAP upon receipt• Ensure that all prospectivestudents have a sponsoringchapter• Work closely with s/p/dScholarship Chairman to assistin the scholarship applicationprocess• Encourage students to visitcampus• Submit contact informationto <strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong> for any newprospective student• Follow-up with all students listedon area Inquiry List• Host gatherings for prospectivestudents• After any student contact ismade, be sure to follow-upwith the student within a monthto thank her and gauge herinterest in <strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong> – offercontinuous support• Encourage students to visitcampus• Submit contact informationto <strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong> for any newprospective student• Make contact with individualstudents in your city listed onInquiry Lists• Host gatherings for prospectivestudents• After any student contactis made, follow-up with thestudent within a month to thankher and gauge her interestin <strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong> – offercontinuous support• Encourage students to visitcampusHigh SchoolsRequest current recruitmentmaterials from the Office of P.E.O.Relations to be able to offereducated support to Area Chairmenand Chapter Chairmen.• Assist in helping chaptersdetermine which chapters willwork with which high schools• Request current recruitmentmaterials from the Office of P.E.O.Relations to be able to offereducated support to CC• Attend local college fairs• Request current recruitmentmaterials from the Office ofP.E.O. Relations• Build relationships with highschool guidance counselors– keep him/her up-to-date on<strong>Cottey</strong> <strong>College</strong>• Attend local college fairsAdmissionRepresentativeVisit (ARV)• Communicate with AR todetermine if and when a visit toyour s/p/d will be made• Inform appropriate AC ofimpending ARV• If appropriate, schedule a studentgathering• Must relay all event details andcontact information to AR at least1 month before scheduled visit• Inform appropriate CC ofimpending ARV• Schedule a student gatheringand inform appropriate CC• Follow-up with invitedprospective students toencourage event attendance• Provide SC with the list of invitedand confirmed prospectivestudents to each event, as wellas event details and hostesscontact information• Invite prospective students toscheduled gatherings• Provide AC with the listof invited and confirmedprospective students to eachevent• If a visit to your city willbe made, inform AC of anystrong guidance counselorrelationships and offer topersonally introduce AR tocounselor(s)6
