Under normal market conditions, thePortfolio will devote between 92.5% to 100% of its net assets to underlying portfoliosinvesting primarily in equity securities, and 0% to 7.5% of its net assets to underlyingportfolios investing primarily in debt securities and money market instruments.AST AllianceBernstein Core Value Portfolio: seeks long-term capital growth byinvesting primarily in common stocks. The Portfolio willinvest, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in securities included inthe S&P ® 500.AST American Century Income & Growth Portfolio: seeks capital growth with currentincome as a secondary objective.
