Grades for academic skills advancementcourses are preceded by the letter “S.”STATUS CODESStatus codes describe the state or condition of a course on the student’s record for which agrade has not been awarded. Status code indications carry no quality points. The types ofstatus codes and the symbols used to indicate them are shown below:StatusIIncompleteAU AuditSUVWSatisfactoryUnsatisfactoryVerified CompetencyWithdrawalThese status codes are used for the following reasons:I—Incomplete“I” designations are received by students who have actively pursued a course and are doingpassing work at the end of the course but who have not completed the final examination and/or other specific course assignments. To remove an “I” designation, a student must meet withthe instructor and make arrangements to complete course requirements in a specified periodnot to exceed 30 days beyond the start of the following term. The instructor must submit thegrade within 31 calendar days of the beginning of the following term in which the studentreceived the “I” designation.AU—Audit“AU” status indicates enrollment in a course for which no grade or credit is awarded. Thefees for audited courses are the same as those for courses taken for credit. Audit status mustbe declared no later than the end of the first week of classes with approval of the instructor orprogram chairperson.16
