CAREER SERVICESCareer Services provides many types of services to all <strong>student</strong>s, graduates, and alumni,including: career exploration, resume writing preparation, career fair information, andassistance in seeking employment while in school and upon graduation. Students, graduates,and alumni interested in assistance with job search strategies may register with their localOffice of Career Services. Upon registration, Career Services staff will:1. Advise candidates of the <strong>College</strong>’s career services.2. Provide occupational information including employment trends andlocal and state occupational outlook data.3. Assist the registered candidate in preparing a packet of credentials for use infinding a job. This packet may include:a. A resume of the candidate’s education and employment experience, andb. Personal letters of recommendation verifying the <strong>student</strong>’s employability.4. Create and maintain folders containing original copies of the candidate’scredentials for all registered candidates.5. Prepare copies of credentials used by the candidates for referral toprospective employers.Alumni may update their credentials whenever they wish to use the Office of CareerServices. Students or alumni registered with the Office of Career Services will be informedof employment opportunities. These opportunities are also posted on campus job boardsand online. <strong>Ivy</strong> <strong>Tech</strong> utilizes an online job posting system known as JobZone, which can beaccessed through the <strong>College</strong>’s website (www.ivytech.edu) or through Campus Connect.Employers can post positions and <strong>student</strong>s can post resumes at no cost. Local job postings aswell as statewide listings can be accessed through JobZone. Employers who register with theOffice of Career Services are granted access to JobZone and are provided with the names ofall qualified candidates without regard to gender, race, age, national origin or disability. Seethe Office of Career Services for additional information or visit www.ivytech.edu.COLLEGE BOOKSTOREEach campus maintains a bookstore where <strong>student</strong>s may buy textbooks and supplies.LIBRARYLibraries at each campus provide access to materials, information and services thatsupport <strong>student</strong>s’ educational needs. In addition libraries have career exploration materials,interlibrary loan services, general and technical periodicals, recreational reading, andaudio-visual materials and equipment. In addition to print materials the <strong>College</strong> provides avariety of online databases, many of which are full-text, that are available to <strong>student</strong>s at allcampuses.24DISABILITY SUPPORT SERVICESReasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made to ensure accessto academic programs, services, and employment in accordance with section 504 of theRehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the Americanswith Disabilities Amendment Act. <strong>College</strong> programs and facilities are designed to beaccessible to <strong>student</strong>s with disabilities. Each campus has designated parking and specialrestroom facilities for persons with disabilities. The <strong>College</strong> staff works with the Departmentof Vocational Rehabilitation and other service agencies to assist <strong>student</strong>s with disabilitiesthrough available local community resources.
