The Polish Society of Rose Fanciers is now in a period of rejuvenation and
reorganization, after a difficult time in which many of its senior and most active members
passed away.
In 2005 we published a book, Polish Rose Society 1958 – 2000, which outlined the 40
years of great achievements of rose fanciers in Poland. This book attracted great interest and
was the catalyst for the rebirth of our Society.
In 2006 we intend to:
• Hold a General Council for all members of the Society to choose a new
Presidium (November)
• Prepare a second edition of Polish Rose Society 1958 – 2000
• Cooperate with the World Committee on Heritage Roses and name a
representative from our Society to that organization
• Cooperate with the Rosary in Chorzów (opened in 1968) to renew and replant
rose bushes
• Submit articles to gardening newspapers about roses and about Polish and
European rose breeders
