Frame AdapterCHALLENGESOLUTIONPrevent oil leaks between theframe adapter and the oil sealCause:• The small air spaces between the adapter andthe oil seal can allow oil to leakFill the air spaces by applying a Loctite ® 243 or 248 MediumStrength Threadlocker to the outside diameter of the oil lip seal• A Loctite ® Medium Strength Threadlocker allows the oil seal to be easily removed with a screwdriver duringthe next overhaulSteps:1. Clean the outside diameter of the oil seal and the inside diameter of the frame adapter withLoctite ® 7063 Cleaner & Degreaser2. Apply Loctite ® Medium Strength Threadlocker to the outside diameter of the oil seal3. Wipe off any excess and press into the adapter using normal techniques and toolsRESULTS• Elimination of leaks along with associated clean up and hazards.• Less oil consumption• Reduced risk of running low on lubricant.• Ease of pump service• Elimination of leaks, contamination, and corrosion due to aunitized assembly18 19
