The maximum a final grademay be raised as a result of remedial work is six per cent. For example, if a student gets 49percent in a course, the maximum grade the student may receive after successful remedialwork is 55 percent. In addition to remedial work, students must complete all regular courseassignments with passing marks to qualify for the grade increase. The decision to assignremedial work is at the discretion of the faculty member and the Director of DistanceEducation, who both have veto power. Students should recognize that the opportunity to doremedial work is a privilege which may or may not be granted, depending on thecircumstances.
