As the York Foundation for Public Education,Inc. approached its 20th anniversary thisyear, we established the Fund for Excellencein order to sustain and build upon the qualityof education in the York County SchoolDivision.The foundation’s Fund for Excellence Campaign has helped our teachers and students in the York CountySchool Division exhibit the joy of teaching and learning by supporting: innovative teaching grants, wholeschool improvement grants, the innovative use of technology, scholarships to support students’ participationin academic competitions and postsecondary education, the continuing education of staff membersand the recognition and reward of excellence and achievement among students and staff members.School foundations are growing dramatically all across the country, raising millions of dollars to supportprograms and projects that enhance the educational experience for children and support the hard work ofour teachers and staff.With that in mind, the York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. has raised over $600,000 through the campaign.The campaign funds are needed to develop the joy of teaching and learning in each of our schoolsand for every student and staff member as we move into the future.
