Tremco SP PrimerA Versatile Water Based Primerfor CoatingsComposition: Tremco SP Primer is a coating primerprepared from a proprietary blend of acrylic polymersand adhesion promoters. Tremco SP Primer isasbestos free and meets the requirements of theNational Architectural Coatings regulation.Basic Use: Tremco SP Primer improves adhesion ofacrylic coatings when applied to single ply mambranessuch as EPDM, PVC, PIB and Hypalon. Tremco SPPrimer is also used to prime Tremlastic and TremlasticS prior to the application of acrylic latex coatings suchas Polarcote FR. In addition, Tremco SP Primer mayalso be used over various surfaces such as metal andmasonry as a primer for coatings.Limitations:• Do no apply primers or coatings when rain isimminent• Not intended for use as a final coating• Do not apply at temperatures below 45° F (7° C)• Do not allow container to freeze. Store in a heatedarea.• All substrates primed with Tremco SP Primer mustbe coated the same day. Reprime areas left openovernight or which have been contaminated withdust or debris.Grade: Brush/rollPackaging: Tremco SP Primer is available in 1 gallon(3.8L), 5 gallon (19L) containers and 53 gallon (200L)plastic lined drums.Storage Life: One year in unopened containers.Application: Surface must be clean and dry beforeapplying. Tremco SP Primer is milky white in the containerand when first applied, but will dry to clear,tacky finish. Allow primer to completely dry so it willnot track under foot traffic before applying acryliccoating (1 hour minimum). Avoid foot traffic onFeaturesProduct AdvantagesBenefitsprimed surfaces. Reprime as required.Coverage: Coverage will vary depending upon surfaceporosity and application conditions.Approximately 300-400 ft 2 /gal (7.4-9.8 m 2 /L).Clean-up: Before cure, rinse hands and equipmentwith soap and water.
