Participation in Professionalism
Survey Needed
The ASDE Section once again respectfully requests the
participation of ACD Fellows in a brief survey on the
concept of professionalism. The response rate to this short
survey by Fellows has been limited and we are very
much in need of your views. We are interested in how
you personally defi ne professionalism and what attributes
you would use to describe it. The Professionalism
Survey can be reached by going to the ASDE Web site,
www.societyfordentalethics.org. Scroll down on fi rst
page to the survey. A summary of the survey results will
be reported as an item in an upcoming ACD News and
our goal is to develop this topic into an article or articles
themed around the topic of professionalism to be published
in Issues in Dental Ethics. The participation of College
Fellows in the survey would be greatly appreciated
as you likely represent individuals with very informed
views on this topic. Please help with this project.
entitled “Culture and Dental Ethics” will be presented
at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco
on Friday, August 12 th . Dental ethics can be diffi
cult in any environment. But in a community like the
challenging twist to conventional ethical decision-making.
