ACD 2011 Annual Meeting and Convocation in Las Vegas<br />
Nicole Johnson, Miss America 1999 and Advocate for Diabetes Issues<br />
Our ACD 2011 Annual Meeting and Convocation will take place Monday and Tuesday, October 10th and 11th at the Mandalay Bay<br />
Resort and Casino, Las Vegas. We will have an outstanding line-up <strong>of</strong> speakers and entertainment. Monday will feature our sevenhour<br />
ethics course, “Dental Ethics Facilitator Training” presented by Dr. Phyllis L. Beemsterboer, Dr. Lawrence P. Garetto, Dr. Bruce<br />
Peltier, and Dr. Alvin B. Rosenblum. The LeaderSkills workshops begin Monday morning with Jay Baer who will present a social<br />
media presentation entitled, “It’s About People, Not Logos: Using Social Media to Build Your Reputation, and Your Practice.” John<br />
C. Kornitzer, renowned fi nancial expert, will speak on “Investing for the Future: Private Investment in a Global Economy.” Monday<br />
afternoon Dr. Chris Bauer, noted ethicist, will present a program on “Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Ethics: A Preventive Maintenance Approach.” The<br />
Fellows Forum follows and will debut the ACD Public Relations video. Monday concludes with the Meet & Greet, which is an excellent<br />
opportunity to socialize with old friends and new Fellows. Dr. Terry Paulson will provide the keynote presentation on Tuesday<br />
morning, “Change! Love it and Lead it!” Larry G. Jones, master singing impressionist will entertain us at lunch. The Convocation<br />
will take place Tuesday afternoon and we are most fortunate to have Nicole Johnson, MPH, MA as our featured speaker. Nicole was<br />
crowned Miss America 1999 and she has served as an international consultant and advocate for diabetes issues for more than 12<br />
years. Our elegant dinner dance will feature the Kicks dance band and Elvis. We expect a large attendance—make plans early. It’s<br />
going to be a great event. Don’t miss it!<br />
