player’s ‘Primary’ Association or Club. The player’s ‘Primary’ affiliate has first call on that player’s services for
representative selection.
8. UNFINANCIAL MEMBERS
No member of a Club who leaves such Club to join another Club shall be eligible to play in any fixture organised
by Queensland Cricket or any of its affiliates, until they are financially clear of the Club of which they were
originally a member. No player who has been playing in the competition of an affiliated association shall be eligible
to play in any competition of an affiliate until they satisfy the Executive Committee of that Club that they are
financially clear of such an affiliated association. A player shall be deemed to be financially clear of a Club if, up to
the time of leaving the Club, they have paid their annual subscription, special levies in the nature of subscription,
wicket fees, and any penalty validly imposed by the Club in accordance with the rules thereof. The final decision
shall be left to the discretion of the Queensland Cricket Appeals Tribunal.
9. GRADING OF PLAYERS
[a] Any Club taking part in the Grade Competition may demote any player who has played in its higher grade teams
as follows:
(i) Maximum of two grades between First Grade to The Norm McMahon Shield and The Alan Pettigrew Shield
to The Bob Spence Shield; or
(ii) One grade between The Norm McMahon Shield, The Bob Spence Shield, The Roy Tanner Shield and The
WEP Harris Shield; but
for any round commencing after December 31, a player who as at the commencement of that round has played
10 days in that grade and or any higher grade during the season and who has scored more than 300 runs (First
Grade and The Alan Pettigrew Shield), 200 runs (The Norm McMahon, Bob Spence, Roy Tanner and WEP
Harris Shields) or taken more than 15 wickets (First Grade, The Alan Pettigrew, Norm McMahon, Bob Spence,
Roy Tanner and WEP Harris Shields), in all forms of competition in that grade and or any higher grade may not
be demoted without the Club having first applied for and obtained the consent of the Grade Committee.
Applications for regrading must be lodged at the Queensland Cricket Office no later than 12 Noon on the
Wednesday preceding the commencement of the round.
[b] For any round after the first round, and subject to Regulation 9 [a], a Club must make application to the Grade
Committee to regrade any player more than two grades below First Grade and The Alan Pettigrew Shield
respectively, and more than one grade below The Norm McMahon, The Bob Spence and The Roy Tanner
Shields. Submissions must include documentation of the player’s performances and may include medical
certificates and reports, to be lodged at the Queensland Cricket Office no later than 12 Noon on the Wednesday
preceding the commencement of the round.
[c] For any round commencing after December 31, a player who has played 8 days and scored more than 175 runs
or taken more than 10 wickets in all forms of competition in the Katherine Raymont Shield may not be demoted
without the Club having first applied for and obtained the consent of the Grade Committee. Applications for
regrading should be lodged at the Queensland Cricket Office no later than 12 Noon on the Thursday preceding
the commencement of the round.
[d] No player shall be permitted to participate in both The Katherine Raymont Shield and The Second Grade Shield
matches on the same day. Players from The Katherine Raymont Shield may participate as a substitute fielder in
The Second Grade Shield if no other substitute fielders are available. Clubs are expected to act within the Spirit
of Cricket when using substitute fielders.
10. SCHEDULING OF FIXTURES
[a] At the July meeting of the Grade Committee complete rounds of fixtures shall be determined and copies thereof
forwarded by the Grade Secretary of Queensland Cricket to the Secretary of each Grade Club.
[b] The Grade Committee shall determine upon what grounds competition matches shall be played, and no
alteration of either fixture or ground therefore shall be made except by the Grade Committee.
[c] Should any portion of any fixture be played upon any ground other than that allotted to it, neither Club
participating in such fixture shall be awarded any points for that match.
[d] The ground, allocated by the Grade Committee, may not be changed while a match is in progress.
[e] Where necessary due to an insufficient number of Club grounds, matches in The Roy Tanner Shield and The
WEP Harris Shield can be scheduled on Sundays at the discretion of the Grade Committee. Where a match is
scheduled on a Sunday in The Roy Tanner Shield or The WEP Harris Shield, any players participating in that
match must not have played in a Grade Competition fixture on the day before.
