SELF-ASSESSMENT FOR DISTANCE LEARNING<br />
As each <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Start</strong> program has developed its own system to promote and support pr<strong>of</strong>essional development<br />
activities, <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Start</strong> is uniquely poised to develop creative solutions to address the individualized needs <strong>of</strong> adult learners.<br />
This self-assessment will help you decide if you are a good candidate for an online course or distance learning<br />
directed to a degree. We encourage you to try distance learning as a delivery method for pr<strong>of</strong>essional development, but<br />
want you to be aware that online learning <strong>of</strong>fers both unique opportunities and challenges.<br />
Questions 1 - 4 have been identified as critical skill areas for successful participation in online courses. If you<br />
answered yes to all <strong>of</strong> these questions, you are ready to continue to questions 5 - 17. If you had a “no” response to<br />
any <strong>of</strong> the first 4 questions, you will want to discuss this further with an expert or advisor.<br />
