CENTER FOR THE CHILD CARE WORKFORCE’S mission is to<br />

COUNCIL FOR PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION works to<br />

improve the pr<strong>of</strong>essional status <strong>of</strong> early childhood workers<br />

and helps to meet the growing need for qualified child care<br />

staff. The Council’s mission is to emphasize the importance<br />

and increase the recognition <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essionals who care for<br />

children from birth through five years <strong>of</strong> age in child care<br />

centers, family child care homes, and as home visitors. The<br />

following programs, operated by the Council, recognize<br />

HEADSUP! NETWORK. Under the Reauthorization <strong>of</strong><br />

1998, Congress requires more training and pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

development for <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Start</strong> teachers and administrators.<br />

<strong>Head</strong>sUp! was created to provide an economic means <strong>of</strong><br />

bringing quality, research-based early childhood training<br />

to <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Start</strong> and early childhood pr<strong>of</strong>essionals. Through<br />

the training delivered via the <strong>Head</strong>sUp! Network, staff and<br />

parents may earn the following types <strong>of</strong> credit: Continuing<br />

Education Units (CEU); Child <strong>Development</strong> Associate<br />

(CDA); and Associate's <strong>of</strong> Arts (AA).<br />
