In court, <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> took bravely to the witness stand to giveevidence against Harry the Dog. The judge looked <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g>sternly in the eye, “How l<strong>on</strong>g have you been a Junior PoliceC<strong>on</strong>stable?”. <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> replied, “5 hours”. The evidence againstHarry the Dog was pretty damning and so<strong>on</strong> the case wasc<strong>on</strong>cluded. There was an outburst from the Defendant… hecouldn’t help but stand up and say that he’d been <strong>on</strong> the runfor weeks, and he’s never seen such brilliant police work orsuch a great c<strong>on</strong>stable as PC<str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Poole</str<strong>on</strong>g>! <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> beamed fromear to ear. Even the baddy wasimpressed!DAY TWO!The excitement wasn’t over yet for <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g>. He was v<strong>is</strong>ited by the helicopterbranch <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Metropolitan police who showed him round the cockpit <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> thehelicopter and taught him all they knew!The day’s events were fin<strong>is</strong>hed <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>f with a presentati<strong>on</strong> from Chief Inspector NickBatt, head <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> training at Hend<strong>on</strong> in fr<strong>on</strong>t <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> all the centre’s recruits. CI Battbestowed the highest h<strong>on</strong>our that can be given to a new recruit <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> – thebat<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> h<strong>on</strong>our. The hall was filled with cheers and many a tear was shed bythe family and recruits alike.In order to experience as many policing d<strong>is</strong>ciplines as possible, <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g>was now treated to a trip to Imber Court in Surrey to the MetropolitanPolice Mounted Branch training centre. At Imber Court, horses (andriders) receive extensive training so they are ready for the many rolesthey will need to carry out. At first, <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> wasn’t sure he could handlethe smell <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the horses but h<strong>is</strong> nose so<strong>on</strong> got used to it and he lovedmeeting them! <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> and Victoria even took part in a horse’s training.They waved large flags, blew <strong>on</strong> theirpolice wh<strong>is</strong>tles, and used a smokemachine to expose the horse to thepossible no<strong>is</strong>es experienced <strong>on</strong> thestreet! The centre’s farrier made <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g>a horseshoe the traditi<strong>on</strong>al way and thevet showed every<strong>on</strong>e x-rays <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> thehorses. To top it all, the family wereable, <strong>on</strong>e by <strong>on</strong>e, to ride a beautifulhorse called Wellard who has takenpart in many a cerem<strong>on</strong>y as wellpreviously being seriously injured <strong>on</strong>fr<strong>on</strong>t line duty.Next, <str<strong>on</strong>g>Collin</str<strong>on</strong>g> was <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>f to 10 DowningStreet.
