Eastern Ontario Subregion (Focal Areas GL9–GL11; Figures 3–48 <strong>and</strong> 3–49; Table 3–14)<br />

General Description<br />

The focal areas in this subregion support<br />

approximately 3% of the region’s <strong>and</strong> world’s<br />

<strong>Golden</strong>-<strong>winged</strong> <strong>Warbler</strong>s. They are most<br />

commonly found where the l<strong>and</strong>scape is a mosaic<br />

of ab<strong>and</strong>oned <strong>and</strong> marginal farml<strong>and</strong>, rock<br />

barrens, wetl<strong>and</strong>s, <strong>and</strong> forest (Vallender 2007).<br />

Major threats in these areas are natural<br />

succession <strong>and</strong> Blue-<strong>winged</strong> <strong>Warbler</strong><br />

encroachment.<br />

Note: there was insufficient remotely sensed data to model <strong>Golden</strong>-<strong>winged</strong> <strong>Warbler</strong> habitat associations<br />

in this subregion.<br />
