TELENOR PROJECT BOWLING COMPETITION<br />

The <strong>Siemens</strong> Telenor Project, Islamabad Office<br />

organized a bowling competition<br />

at HOT SHOTS, the local bowling alley, on the 18th <strong>of</strong> March 2006.<br />

With a total <strong>of</strong> 8 teams comprising<br />

5 people each, participation was<br />

very enthusiastic not only on part<br />

<strong>of</strong> the project team members but<br />

also their families. The bowling<br />

alley was fully occupied and<br />

cordoned <strong>of</strong>f to all outside visitors<br />

making the event exclusive for the<br />

<strong>Siemens</strong> employees. The teams<br />

had innovative exciting names like<br />

the Leopards, JAWS, Super<br />

Strikers, Rocket Scientist, Strike<br />

Force, Enigma, the Fabulous Four<br />

and BLITZKRIEG. The competition<br />

started with a draw based on<br />

which in the first round the<br />

Leopards, JAWS, Super Strikers,<br />

Rocket Scientist, Strike Force,<br />

Enigma, the Fabulous Four and<br />

BLITZKRIEG played the strike out<br />

round; each with draw based,<br />

random opponents. The<br />

competition gained ever more<br />

momentum as 4 teams qualified<br />

for the semi finals and, then, the<br />

Super Strikers and Rocket<br />

Scientist became the two finalists.<br />

Rocket Scientists led the way as<br />

the winners <strong>of</strong> the competition<br />

while the Super Strikers a close<br />

13 points followed in second<br />

position. The evening came to an<br />

end with a sumptuous pizza meal<br />

at the Italian Oven. Overall the<br />

competition was taken in good<br />

spirit by all participants and proved<br />

to be a very healthy and refreshing<br />

recreational activity for the project<br />

team who went home greatly<br />

motivated though with a few sore<br />

arms.<br />

environment the continuous<br />

development <strong>of</strong> an organization and<br />

its people is critical to its success.<br />

headed by Mr. Faakhir Hassan Shah<br />

who is also overseeing the Quality<br />

Management implementation specific<br />

to BU Com MN.<br />

The enabling project amongst other<br />

objectives seeks to achieve the<br />

customers to safeguard future<br />

business opportunities<br />

<strong>In</strong>creasing the speed <strong>of</strong> our<br />

response to customer requirements<br />

by building local competence<br />

<strong>In</strong>spiring customer confidence in<br />

our local teams<br />

Decreasing the non conformance<br />

costs<br />

Enhancing customer satisfaction<br />

Staff who receive ongoing training<br />

are more likely to remain<br />

committed because :<br />

Completion <strong>of</strong> the training<br />

develops their careers<br />

The training enables them to take<br />

on greater responsibility and higher<br />

paid work.<br />

Training in skills specific to an industry<br />

does not necessarily limit the benefits<br />

juice or other beverages.<br />

Try these healthier choices and tips:<br />

a Go for the greens. Choose a large<br />

salad with grilled chicken, sea food or<br />

garden vegetables and fruits.<br />
