The silver Jubilees of our Managing
Director Mr.Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui
and Chief financial Officer Mr.Gerhard
Wilcke were celebrated together with
the get together dinner prior to the
Annual Conference in the last week of
January. The venue for the occasion
was carefully selected as the theme
dinner for the evening was based on
the theme “ FLYING HIGH”. The local
PAF (Pakistan Air Force) Museum was
a befitting place to host not only the
dinner but the Silver Jubilees of these
two gentlemen because as the compeer
of the evening said “They are the
Squadron Leaders of the High Flying
Siemens team”.
The theme was carefully planned and
meticulously carried out by CC. All
delegates were provided with the scarf
and cap that was the hall mark of
second world war pilots and it rekindled
the bravery and valor of those times.
Banners with apt visuals and the slogan
“ Flying High” lined both sides of the
beautifully decorated tent pitched in the
backdrop of a rockery that retained the
attention of the guests throughout the
program. Right in front of the rockery
was the beautiful stage that had
complementing backdrops for the two
silver jubilees and a musical band that
provided alluring music through the
evening.
A limousine was specially arranged to
bring the two silver Jubilee celebrants
to the venue from office and they arrived
in style to the clapping of guests and
were profusely garlanded upon their
arrival. Led to the head table the
proceedings started with their
colleagues expressing their experiences
with the two. Amongst those who spoke
on the occasion were Mr.Mohammad
Ilyas, Mr.Rahim Dawood, Mr.Amin
Bandhani, Mr.Samiullah Siddiqui, Major
A.A.Zuberi, Mr.Nasim Siddiqui,
Mr.Parvez Iftikhar, Ms.Sowaba Imran,
Mr.Ali Sher Naqvi and Mr.Irfan Umar.
Siemens Home appliances had
prepared special statuettes inscribed
with the qualities of MD and CFO and
these were presented to the two by
Ms.Sowaba Imran. The beautiful
felicitation cards received from all over
the region were presented by
Mr.Mansoor Farooqui in specially
designed silver boxes together with the
regular documents from HR pertaining
to the silver jubilees. A very unique gift
received from Siemens India for the
MD was presented by Mr.Nadeem
Kazmi to Mr.Sohail Wajahat while a
beautiful book received from Siemens
Singapore was handed over to
Mr.Wilcke by Mr.Mohammad Rafi. One
of the highlights of the evenings was
the video message received from
our former CFO and Present Chief
Executive of Siemens Philippines Mr.
Tertius Vermeulen which was warmly
greeted by the guests. The speech by
Dr.Klaus Wucherer given earlier in a
ceremony in Germany was read out by
Zia Zuberi.
Gerhard Wilcke has preferred to see a
bit more of the world – at Siemens
expense, of course. He started out in
Germany and served in various
functions. Then two years in England,
followed by some five years of
wonderful holidays in Australia. We
brought him back to the cold reality of
Germany – and finally rewarded him
with Siemens Pakistan.
Everyone says he is the perfect partner
for Sohail: With a fine eye for tactics,
When I met him the first
time I had the feeling
that he was the right
person for the company
because he was very
straightforward and
articulate. He brought a
lot of discipline to the
financial area of
Siemens. He is first,
different and
courageous. For me he
is a blessing from God.

Everybody knows that
the speed of light is the
fastest in the world but
since Mr.Wilcke came
to Pakistan I found that
Mr.Wilcke can use MS
Outlook faster than the
speed of light. He
makes the best use of
this.

A three tier cake with sculptured
flowers greeted the silver jubilee
gentlemen at the end of formal
speeches and this was cut by both
amidst thunderous applause. This
was followed by a sumptuous dinner
that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

At Anniversary Dinner in Germany

venue to prepare for the coming two
days annual conference and praised
the efforts of the organisers for
providing such a well managed
event.
He has a very special
and calculated sense
of humor, his humor is
also business
targeted. His
messages have
double meaning.

missile.

conducive to the good
and benefit of one and
all, then accept it and
live up to it." This is
also knowingly or
unknowingly the way
Mr. Wilcke follows. He
has very good analysis
qualities and a good
sense of humor.
