2.3 Socials networks utility in industries 2.3.1 Social BPM A Social BPM is a Business Process Management to which new collaborativepossibilities provided by the Web 2.0, are made available in order to improveprocesses, taking also into consideration knowledge and experience of acommunity [12].Recently, BPM has started to move from a technical way of modellingorganizations and automatized processes called science-based, to a human-centricdiscipline, this due to the fact that, despite the combination of implementing BPMtechnology and best practices disciplines leads to the creation of highly successfulindustry, analysts start to recognize a critical missing component provided by thehuman collaboration [13].Even if BPM is designed to provide the most optimal solutions, it has thetendency to ignore variance of opinions, ideas and work styles within theorganization. The adoption of social networking tools into BPM, despite somecriticisms, enables to access a large amount of new resources that may contributeto meet the ever-changing needs of companies.Due to the fact that each person has unique characteristic, knowledge and skillthat enable them to perform tasks, assigning to every one identical series ofprocess, hinders the ability of the organizations to optimize their workflowcapacity. This problem may be solved with the introduction of social tools intoBPM, enabling workers to express their unique abilities in real time and in aninteractive way, promoting collaboration and coordination into the workplace andgiving them the opportunity to continuously improve and re-designs their specificbusiness models.20
Introduce social BPM into a company, changes the way to identify, manage andsolve processes problems [13]. Through the utilization of social tools, anunlimited number of users are able to provide their suggestion giving contributionduring the process modelling, creating the most successful and efficient one,interacting each other during the process execution to leverage specific skill setsas needed in order to take the best decisions.Nowadays, between the main emerging social BPM patterns [14], there are:ü Process Reflection: during the execution of the process, users providedirect feedback on possible improvements to be done.ü Extended Discovery: extends the process discovery taking intoconsideration bi-directional communication between the company andthe customers.ü Runtime Process Guidance: modifies in real-time business processesthrough the observation of internal and external socials networks.21
