A US Army veteran during World War II he servedfrom 1943-1945 during which time he was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was alifetime member of the DAV and member of the RTA Pigeon Club.Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Angier Baptist Church by Rev. Grover K.Blackburn Jr. and Rev. Wayne Oakes. Burial, Lakeside Memorial Gardens.Surviving: his wife of 10 years, Ann Mangum <strong>Adams</strong>; daughters, Betty Jo Spivey and herhusband, Larry Spivey of Angier and Ginger Jennette and her husband, Walt Jennette of Stokes;
