Gulfstream G450“December 22, 2011”Aircraft Service Change 059BThe design change effected by this Aircraft Service Change (ASC) has been classified asLevel 1 Major. This modification is approved and accepted by: The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) – Project Number TD9612AT-T The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) – Project Number - EASA.IM.A.C.01793The design of this ASC is approved by aircraft type design data for installation on aircraftregistered for operation in accordance with applicable regulations of the FAA and EASA.The design of an ASC is configured to a standard (“green”) production aircraft. If spare wires, pin connections or locations called out have been used for another modification, the installingagency must ensure the development, documentation and approval of any requireddeviations. The following instructions, in step-by-step form, are written as a guide to perform this ASC.Compliance with safe maintenance practices, as defined in the Aircraft Maintenance Manualand FAA or EASA regulations, is required. It is the responsibility of the installing facility toread all instructions contained in this service change and refer to all associated documents, drawings and manuals for applicable actions.Gulfstream considers this ASC a means to enhance aircraft capabilities to meet individualoperator requirements. The modification is not related to any safety or airworthinesscondition.Subject:Navigation (ATA 34) – Enhanced NavigationPurpose / Discussion:Enhanced Navigation is a package of options providingseveral new or upgraded navigational and displayfeatures. This service change provides hardware andsoftware necessary to modify the aircraft with apackage of navigational system optional functions.New or improved features include: Circling approaches Temperature compensated VNAV SRN / LRN transition Automatic preview LRN / SRN WAAS / LPV approaches Peaks display Electronic terminal charts certified paperless RNP 0.1 CPDLC - FANS 1/A (via ASC 071)Page 1 of 11

Gulfstream G450“December 22, 2011”Aircraft Service Change 059BPurpose / Discussion Continued:Description / Man-HoursRequired Per Aircraft:Approved Engineering Data:Prerequisites:This service change revision moves the activation ofCPDLC functionality to a separate ASC (071) to permitindividual purchase for those operators not opting topurchase the Enhanced Navigation package. Inaddition, CPDLC activation has been incorporated intoinitial phase manufacturing beginning with aircraft serialnumber 4230; therefore, the modification instructions, pricing and parts list have been revised to addressthese changes. The intent is that all aircraft havingEnhanced Navigation will be equipped with CPDLC andfully FANS 1/A compliant.Step C. instructions apply to aircraft 4001 – 4229performing initial installation. ASC 071 – CPDLC-FANS1/A is a concurrent requirement for this effectivity groupand is included in the price of this ASC.Step D. instructions apply to aircraft 4230 – subsequentwhich have CPDLC functionality activated during initialphase manufacturing. There is no concurrentrequirement for this effectivity group. This service change loads new software and installsnew or upgraded: 2 GPS antennas (4001 – 4193) 2 GPS modules (4001 – sub) 1 CMC module (4001 – 4193) 3 IRUs (4001 – 4229)Step C. will require approximately 38 man-hours for kit1 or approximately 26 man-hours for kit 2 installation.Step D. will require approximately 12 man hours for thisinstallation.Aircraft having ASC 059 or 059A require no furtheraction and should return the service reply cardmarked “previously complied with”. This servicechange revision supersedes all previous versionsof ASC 059 and is now reissued as ASC 059B.The source data for this aircraft service change is:1159ASC47059 Rev. “C” Top Drawing – ASC 059PlaneView Avionics Enhancement (Cert F)G450 ASC 908 – PlaneView Master Operating SoftwareUpdate (Cert Fox), or later approved versionPage 2 of 11

Refer to G450AMM, Chapter 34.2. Ensure there is adequate access to the IRUs to accommodate software update.Note that on aircraft 4230 and subsequent; the IRUs do NOT need to be removed. The unit installed during initial phase manufacturing, PN HG2100BB02 is a laterapproved version than PN HG2100AB07. Proceed to Step E.E. Software Modifications and Follow-on Procedures:1. Prepare aircraft for safe maintenance and application of electrical power. Refer toG450 AMM, Chapter 20.NOTE:When updating IRU software, the APM data must be READ and then backedup prior to attempting to change the configuration index file. Read GER-9238in its entirety prior to accessing IRU APM data. Failure to properly back upIRU APM data could result in full IRU tray alignment procedure beingrequired.2. Connect IRU test equipment and start up alignment software. Update IRU APM inaccordance with to GER-9238. Remove IRU test equipment.NOTE:When multiple ASCs containing software are complied with simultaneously, the software installations should be conducted sequentially and completely.Using the date and time stamp on the Authorization Report of the LoadableAvionics Software Configurations (Options) software, each ASC will beloaded beginning with the earliest calendar date and time, and progressing tothe most current date. Following Data Load Guide procedures, installsoftware in the order specified. Each software installation of an ASC will becomplete by following the Verification and Test Procedures found on theAuthorization Report. Reference 1159SB51000.NOTE:Correct setup of the aircraft laptop with the CMC Remote Terminal Tool iscritical to the successful loading and operation of all software. Follow DataLoad Guide procedures CAREFULLY. Ensure any firewalls, anti-virusprograms or wireless LAN connections are disabled and the laptop isconnected to 60 Hz aircraft power.NOTE:Refer to the appropriate Data Load Guide for aircraft Cert level for softwareprocedures when loading and verifying software. Data Load Guide isincluded in GIVX-GER-9934 – PlaneView Software Loading, Verification andReturn To Service Procedures located in Maintenance Applications on theaircraft laptop.NOTE:Options CDs are security enabled.
