God’s face turned toward us in love, not away from us in anger. We are blessed by God’s own peace!
Our wish and our hope are fulfilled in this blessing, which is made visible in the coming of Jesus. In Jesus,
the image of the invisible God, God’s face is shown to us and God’s presence is made known to us in faithful

will take place at 12:00 noon. The

altar until Benediction, which will be
held at 7:00 pm in St. Patrick Church.
MARRIAGE PREPARATIO�

BAPTISM
First time parents should contact the parish office (ext. 11)
well in advance of an expected Baptism, before birth when
possible, to prepare for and to schedule both the Baptism
and to register for Baptism Instruction. Baptisms during
Mass are held the 1st Sunday of the month and Baptisms
after Mass at 1:15 pm are typically held the 2 nd and 3 rd
Sundays of the month. The next Baptism Instruction will
be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

Sponsors’ & Godparents’ letters, for upcoming Baptisms and
Confirmations to be held at another Catholic Church, are
provided by the parish for registered members, who have been
members for at least six months, attend Mass, and are receiving
the sacraments on a regular basis. Letters may be obtained by

As the Magi brought their gifts of gold,
frankincense and myrrh to the newborn
Jesus, so too, our parish will present gifts to
needy infants on The Epiphany of the Lord,
January 8, 2012. Those bearing gifts are
asked to bring them to the crèche as you
enter for Liturgy and present them to Jesus.
They will be distributed to Genesis of
Washington County and the Rosalia Home.

As part of the St. Patrick School Advent Service Project, the
students of St. Patrick School and their families, purchased gifts
to be given to the Washington City Mission. The City Mission
uses the gifts to distribute to the homeless and under-privileged
families of Washington County. The students collected over
100 gifts to be distributed.

March for Life Pilgrimage
January 23, 2012
All parishioners are encouraged to join us for the 39 th Annual March for Life on Monday, January 23, 2012. Abortion was
legalized by the Supreme Court on January 22, 1973. Every year since then, hundreds of thousands of citizens participate in a
peaceful, prayerful protest march in Washington, D.C. to heighten public awareness of this grave injustice. There are 2 busses
leaving from St. Patrick Church: the Youth Bus leaves at 12:30 am and the Morning Bus leaves at 6:00 am. High school students
are encouraged to come on the Youth Bus to attend the Youth Rally and Mass for Life with high school teens from around the
country. Students in grades 8 through 12 may attend without a parent; permission forms are required. Younger children are
welcome on either bus if accompanied by a parent. Parents are asked to discuss abortion with their child at an age appropriate
level prior to the March. 4,000 babies die every day in this country due to abortion. This year, we need to send a message to
President Obama that abortion is not health care. Please join us.

Students: Grades 8—12 and their parents
Young people today are confronted with many images
of sexuality and conflicting messages of morality through the
media, internet, and society. Yet, our Catholic vision of love and
sexuality remains consistent in the following of the teaching of
Christ. The Silver Ring Thing, Catholic Edition, is a high-tech,
high-energy performance that educates teens about the benefits
of pursuing the virtue of chastity, and the dangers of promiscuous
behavior. All teens and parents, and those who serve them, are
invited to attend our live event on Friday, January 13, 2012
at Seton LaSalle High School from 6:30 - 9:00 pm. With
dramas, videos, special effects, and speakers, teenagers will be
motivated in a unique and personal way to choose to commit
to both God and their future vocation by remaining chaste.
Parents, join us for a special parent meeting at 6:00 or at 6:30
pm and receive a special gift. For more information, please go

There are two chartered buses leaving St. Patrick Parish for the
March for Life in Washington, DC on January 23, 2012. The
Express bus departs later and returns a little sooner. If you plan
