Description of Task to be completed10 Ensure that all safety barriers, signage, isolatins and permits are in place.20 Safely shutdown the boiler on the panel, leave fan on for expelling smoke and gas in the chamber.30 Visually inspect the chamber through the inspection window, to make sure the fire has burnt out, befor openingdoor on the boiler.40 Wear PPE: Gloves, goggles, mask and overalls for the next tasks.50 Do not handle ash and clinker with bare hands.60 Never at any point should the chamber be entered nor should an operative each inside the boiler chamber.70 With the special tools provided, hook type poker and shovel, rake out ash and any clinker.80 Air holes on the sides of the chamber should be cleared from ash and clinker.90 The debris created from the clear out is to be raked to the front of the chamber onto the grate in front of the door,for the ash auger to bring out into the ash transport system into the bins.100 When finished close the door to chamber and re-start the boiler on the panel.110 Maintain good housekeeping at all times; tidy the work area, removing any waste products generated during thetest.120 Remove all barriers, signage and isolation before signing and isolation before signing off permit/s.21 June 2013 08:44:11 GMT+01:00 1 / 3
