Programs / 0123<strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong> Attracts the Best and Brightest<strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong>’s educational guideline is to produce graduates with an internationalperspective and adaptable to the development of the socialist market economy. Toachieve this, the school has been controlling its enrollment and improving the teachingquality constantly. As of September, 2006,there are 3716 students in <strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong>,about 1/10 percent of the total <strong>Tsinghua</strong> University student body.The undergraduate program has always been a dream pursued by millions of studentsacross the country; about half of its undergraduates would continue to do their masterand Ph.D. programs at <strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong>.<strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong> admits overseas students as well as domestic students. Programs / 0123Academic Degrees ProgramsBachelor Program<strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong> offers a four-year bachelor degree in the areas of Information Managementand Systems, Finance, Accounting, and Economics. The latter three majors havethe option to pursue a two-year Master Degree program after undergraduate study. Financemajors can also choose a four-year PhD degree program. Freshmen and sophomorestudents must first study pre-requisites before they can focus on specific interestsduring the remaining two years.Accounting: This major is dedicated to equipping the graduates with modern accountingand relevant knowledge in audit, finance, investment, enterprises management, marketing,economics, law and computer science, which qualify them for international standards.Economics: This subject is to foster students to not only grasp systematic economicstheory knowledge and scientific analysis methods, but also realize the facts of China’seconomy. Academic Research / 8!9:Academic ResearchWhile pursuing excellence in teaching, <strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong> also commits itself to excellentresearch. <strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong>’s research is greatly enriched by its close ties with Chineseindustries and governments, as well as with other world-class departments, labs andcenters both at <strong>Tsinghua</strong> and across the globe. Nine research centers and eight departmentsare housed in <strong>Tsinghua</strong> <strong>SEM</strong>. The departments are organized according to academicdisciplines and dedicated to teaching and research in their specific fields.In China, educational programs and research areas in public universities are organizedby China’s Ministry of Education and State Council.
