starting with a discussion of parallels between general
medicine and dentistry (Prof Gerlach, Frankfurt)
and the diagnosis of diseases of the oral mucosa
(Prof Wagner, Mainz). After that, several speakers will
present their own treatment concepts: on current
restorative treatment options (Prof Mehl, Zürich), on
current issues in endodontics (Dr Zehnder, Zürich)
and on microbiological diagnostic concepts in perio -
dontal therapy (Dr Ehmke, Münster). The morning
segment concludes with a summary by BDIZ EDI vice
president Prof Joachim E. Zöller (University of Cologne)
and a discussion of the presentations held during the
morning.
The afternoon segment is dedicated entirely to oral
implantology, featuring two highly interesting com-

Implantology (European Dental Association). Interested dentists

(Dr Neugebauer, Köln). These dialogues will then lead
to a discussion in which members of the audience
are welcome to participate.
The highlight of the day, and its culmination, will
be a live implant restoration session. Dr Paul Weigl
(Frankfurt) will be presenting a correct course of
implant and restorative treatment, step by step, from
bite registration to insertion. The final discussion will
be hosted by Christian Berger and Dr Michael Frank.
Workshops and dental exhibition

Participants of the two-day symposium will have an
opportunity to register for one of the traditional four
workshops held under the auspices of the dental
industry on Friday morning between 9 am and noon.
A visit to the dental exhibition is highly recommended
during the breaks on Saturday. The program for
