This, in connection with the fact that they have netassets of over $450,000,000, have made total profits of more than$80,000,000, have helped to secure probably over 400,000 homes,and are semi-banking institutions conducted by ordinary mennot trained as bankers, but jet have met with remarkably fewlosses, shows conclusively the strong hold which building andloan assooiations have taken upon the public.
