Samples for Capacity Definition<strong>GEA</strong> <strong>MPower</strong>-<strong>Geko</strong> Fan Coil UnitThe tables with capacity data on pages 6 to 12 indicated cooling and heating capacityas well as sound power level of the <strong>GEA</strong> <strong>MPower</strong>-<strong>Geko</strong> of modular configuration witha G2 filter and without mounted air side accessories and/or additional external staticpressure.A different unit configuration and using air side accessories like air intake and dischargeplenums or sound attenuation modules change internal and external air sideresistance. Air ducts and discharges connected by others can increase air side staticpressure drop that must be covered by the <strong>GEA</strong> <strong>MPower</strong>-<strong>Geko</strong>. Calculation of expectedindoor sound pressurelevelTables on pages 6 to 13 (unit selection) and 16 to 23 (Overview of capacity) presentsound power level of basic units on air intake and discharge sides as well as unit casingacoustic emission. These data correspond to unit acoustic emission energy. In orderto determine actual sound level perceived by human ear at a certain point indoors,different factors need to be considered.Sound energy emitted in the air ductwork by others is usually absorbed (= reduced)thanks to absorption and reflection process. The manufacturer usually provides informationon certain components, e.g. acoustic insulation of a sound attenuator. Otherinfluencing factors can be e.g. material and form of air ducts, form and number of crosssection changes, duct ramifications, etc. As a rule, these can be estimated based onthe empirical data of the manufacturer.Sound energy emitted by unit casing in room direction is usually reduced only by thesuspended ceiling. In this case material type and ceiling thickness as well as possiblyused addition insulating material of suspended ceiling play a key role (e.g. mineral woolcoating).Supply and exhaust air flow entering and leaving the room through air ducts generatesflow noise, that to a great extent depends on the used product (refer to manufacturerspecifications). If the difference between sound level before the air duct opening andspecific sound level of duct opening amounts to more than 10 dB, the increase of thetotal level is to be neglected. Itcan integrated at any location within the MATRIX network and can simultaneouslyserve up to 16 groups.Up to 16 unit groups can be assigned to one cluster:– One unit group per each cluster– Each cluster with up to 16 unit groups.Clear text menus and "push&turn" function enable easy handling during operation orconfiguration. A maximum of 16 unit groups can be induvidually grouped to clusters.Using the control panel the wanted setpoints for temperature, fan speed, etc. can beassigned for each cluster. Thanks to control panel features comprising all groups, thenecessary room or return air sensors are located in the respective groups (grouplocations).Local control panels (OP2xx, OP3xx, OP4xx, OP5x) can be additionally integrated inindividual groups. Their functional scope can be defined and adjusted using the controlpanel for all groups.
