LandfordLaverstockand FordPitton andFarleyTisburyMake sure we all shop at our local shop and post officeLaverstock - The largest of the four communities is poorly served with retail facilities. The One Stop shop is generally a welcomed addition.Hampton Park – the neighbourhood of 490 homes is better provided for than others witha shop, vet and post office nearby. The likelihood of five hundred new houses willincrease the need for retail outlets and it is hoped that the community, through the ParishCouncil will have the opportunity to influence the choice.Old Sarum - This small community is the most deprived in terms of facilities to supportthe residents. It has nothing. We know that the current new build of 500 houses willbring with it a selection of facilities however it would be the wish of the Steering Groupthat the Parish council will use the information gathered to influence the type and rangeof facilities.• We highly value the village shop in Pitton, encourage and support the local shop.Contained within the Vision statement, it is clear that residents want the present level ofservices protected and enhanced, and the High Street to flourish. The Tisbury Parish Plan shows that residents are concerned with preserving andincreasing the shops in the High Street and attracting new business enterprises toTisbury to provide work for all. According to the plan the Tisbury community values itsHigh Street greatly and seeks to arrest any decline in the number of shops andenterprises. As important, people see the need to provide adequate and appropriatebusiness premises to attract new employers.CM09030/F 42
