The Lex Wills Memorial Medium to Grand Prix** on 7 th June was hugely successful even if we had astorm through early morning. One of our scorers Belinda Geissler was busy on the BOM site watchingthis storm approach whilst myself as an organiser was trying to not look at the sky. Anyway thedecision was made with dark clouds over the grounds that the competition would be stopped pendingthe storm passing. This Naomi did over the PA and very quickly horses/riders took shelter where theycould. With only forty minutes lost due to the storm competition restarted and at the end of the daythanks to Naomi’s organising at gear check we finished just ahead of time. The storm did mean somescratchings. An event of this magnitude doesn’t happen without lots of support – so thank youto all the members who helped in whatever way towards the weekend.
