Often encountered are situations such asrusted/deteriorated decks, rotted wood components,rooftop equipment which cannot be moved or shutdown, and numerous other conditions.The following application information is designed toserve as a general guide. Your local <strong>Tremco</strong>Representative can prepare detailed specificationsbased upon your roof’s conditions.STRUCTURAL DECKS: Deck must be properlydesigned and structurally sound.DRAINAGE: Ponding conditions are unacceptableand will adversely affect performance of any roofingsystem. If positive drainage does not exist, waterremoval must be facilitated by lowering drains and/orinstalling additional drains, tapered insulation, orlightweight cellular concrete.INSULATION: Insulation must be dry and kept dry.No more insulation shall be installed than can be coveredin that day. The use of FAS-n-FREE ® Adhesive forsolvent free, fastener free insulation attachment is thepreferred method of securement unless otherwisespecified.APPLICATION:Installation Procedures: According to particularjob specification, prepare surface to be covered:• Replace areas of wet insulation, deteriorated deckand wood components.• Install roof insulation, protection course, or basesheet.Plan placement of <strong>BURmastic</strong> <strong>Composite</strong> <strong>Ply</strong> <strong>Premium</strong><strong>Green</strong> to ensure that water will flow over or along, butnot against, exposed ply edges.Cold Process BUR: Starting at low point of roof,apply a uniform coating of <strong>BURmastic</strong> Adhesive at 2.5gal/100 ft 2 (1L/m 2 ).Three ply membrane: Start and finish roof membranealong edges, terminations, and projections, usestarting/finishing strips — 12, 24, and 36” (305mm,610mm, and 915mm) wide plies.Install <strong>BURmastic</strong> <strong>Composite</strong> <strong>Ply</strong> <strong>Premium</strong> <strong>Green</strong> inshingle fashion. Overlap starter strips 29” (750mm)with first ply, then overlap each succeeding ply 27-1/2” (698mm).Interply adhesive: Embed each ply in uniform andcontinuous application of <strong>BURmastic</strong> Adhesive.Interply application rate: 2.5 gal/100 ft 2 (1L/m 2 ). <strong>Ply</strong>shall never touch ply.Base Sheet: Nail or embed a full width of <strong>BURmastic</strong><strong>Composite</strong> <strong>Ply</strong> <strong>Premium</strong> <strong>Green</strong> in hot-melt adhesive or<strong>BURmastic</strong> Adhesive. Side laps: 4” (100mm). End laps:6” (150mm) minimum and staggered. Lightly broomor roll plies to assure complete contact. Extend all pliesto top edges of all cants and cut off evenly. Overlapprevious work 24” (610mm). Hot-melt adhesive applicationrate: 25 lb/100 ft 2 (1.25kg/m 2 ). <strong>BURmastic</strong>Adhesive application rate: 2.5 gal/100 ft 2 (1L/m 2 ).Surfacing Options: Smooth and aggregate surfacingoptions are available.
