If you willtake the step of faith to do it, I will bethere and I will honor you, says theLord God.This Is theSeason!The following has beenadapted from the power fulmessage Kenneth W. Haginpreached on Tuesday nightof Campmeeting 2009.In the last days, everything is going to beuncertain and changing. Men’s heartswill fail them (Luke 21:26). There will beperilous and dangerous times (2 Tim. 3:1).But we can also see from the Word of Godthat this will be a season when the Spirit ofGod will move in our midst! Some peopledon’t even realize that the CharismaticRenewal is gone. This is the time of ourvisitation!Positioned on the ThresholdOne of the saddest commentaries in thewhole Bible, I think, is in Luke chapter 19,where Jesus wept over Jerusalem becausetheir Messiah had arrived and they “did notknow the time of their visitation” (v. 44NKJV). They didn’t understand the seasonthey were living in. They rejected the verything they were looking for—when Hecame, they missed it!I grew up in Pentecost and I’ve lived in itall my life, and I’ve heard it preached for aslong as I can remember that Jesus is comingsoon. But sometimes we’ve heard it so much,we don’t realize that this is the season whenHe’s going to come again!How do I know that? Because of what’shappening in the Middle East. All we haveto do is read the Bible and we can see that theprophecies are coming to pass. The playersare moving into place. Let us recognize theseason! Let’s stir ourselves up to realize thatwe’re there—positioned on the threshold ofthe door to the end of all things!Our Greatest HourToday the Holy Spirit wants to move inour midst. We can’t afford to miss it. Peopleare looking for everything in the world tofill up their churches, not recognizing theseason. Paul told us about it in Second Timothy3:5 when he talked about “having aform of godliness, but denying the powerthereof.”It is time for us to fall on our faces beforeGod and understand the times and the seasonthat we’re in. This is the greatest opportunitythat the tongue-talking church of theLord Jesus Christ has had in the last 15years! This is our greatest hour!Let’s get out of our lethargy—out of thesmog of “bless me”—and let’s start being ablessing. The Church has gotten to the pointwhere it’s all about “what I can get.” Let’snot leave out salvation, the baptism in theHoly Spirit, and preaching the Bible. Let’skeep the power of God!Contend for the FaithLet me tell you something: we mustcontinue to contend for the faith. We musthold up a standard. There are other groupsthat are Pentecostal, but this is our group.If you’ve been part of RHEMA and KennethHagin Ministries, then I’m callingon you to stand up and demonstrate whatwe say we are!The Apostle Paul said, “I don’t come toyou with great oratorical ability, but withthe demonstration and power of the HolySpirit” (1 Cor. 2:4).It is time that every one of us—in ourchurches and in our individual lives—beginsto demonstrate the power of the HolySpirit, because this is the season and this isthe time!Everything’s going to change—let’s goto the new season! Too many people want tostay in the old season. “Oh, wasn’t it great?”they say. “Didn’t we used to have a goodtime at Campmeeting when Brother Haginwas here? I sure do miss Brother Hagin.”You don’t miss him half as much as I do!We all miss him. But I want to tell yousomething: he’s gone, but the Holy Spiritisn’t! And the same Holy Spirit Who was onhim can be on all of us! I wish that seasonwasn’t gone, but it is. So let’s take the powerof God to our generation!My dad demonstrated the power of Godfrom the time he was 16 until he was 86years old. And now this is one old Texas boywho’s not going to deny the power of God,even if it’s not popular. Let’s rise up andrealize this is our season! This is our time! •10 | fall/winter 2009
A Vibrant Connection:One Family’sJourney of FaithEWith RHEMAIn 30 years, Abner Yoder has lived throughmany changes. He built a strong constructionsupply business, raised a family, and haswatched his children form families of theirown. He’s seen the world around him change.Yet two things in his life have remained constant:RHEMA’s mandate to train laborers totake the Gospel to the world and his enduringcommitment to support that mandate.Abner YoderA member of RHEMA’s board of directors since 1979, AbnerYoder has faithfully supported RHEMA from the time he firstmet Kenneth E. Hagin in the mid-1970s at a Full Gospel BusinessMen’s Fellowship meeting.“I loved Brother Hagin’s ministry,” Abner says, rememberingthose times. “It was like fresh manna from heaven. I’d never heardanything like it.” After the two men became acquainted, BrotherHagin asked Abner to join RBTC’s board in 1979. He has beenserving ever since.“I have always appreciated this ministry’s quality—the way itdoes things with excellence,” Abner notes. “But mostly, I love theteaching of God’s Word.”Although Abner himself never attended RBTC, through hissteady connection, his entire family has experienced the blessingsthat come through a life of faith. “Our family has benefited a lotfrom RHEMA,” he says. “I have three children who have gone toschool there. My wife, Esther, and I have learned a lot, and it hashelped our business. Through Kenneth Hagin Ministries, we’velearned to trust God’s Word.”Abner’s son Steve (’88, ’89), who is also a current board of directorsmember, agrees. “After Dad hooked up with RHEMA, heEThe Yoder Familystarted bringing the family out to Campmeeting,”Steve says fondly. “I was young, 11 or 12years old. Dad encouraged my siblings and meto go to the evening meetings, and I did. ButI went to the morning meetings too, because Ienjoyed the faith teaching so much.”As RBTC has grown over the years, itsteaching has remained consistent, a fact thatboth father and son are thankful for.Steve Yoder“Over the years, RHEMA’s teachings haven’t changed,” Abnershares. “But the school’s growth has been miraculous. Pastor Kennethand Mrs. Lynette have been excellent leaders.”Steve agrees. “My father and I see the Hagins’ pureness ofheart and the transparency of how they do business. That’s importantto us.”Both Abner and Steve visit the campus as often as they can toreceive a fresh impartation from the Holy Spirit. Remainingattached to their roots in RHEMA is essential, as Steve, whoworks with his father, points out.“I often tell my father that part of my management training isto go to Campmeeting, Winter Bible Seminar, and A Call to Arms,”Steve says. “I know it’s a key to our business success,” he adds.“You need the boost that these meetings provide. I’ve noticed thatwhen I don’t go back to my roots at RHEMA as often, I can tellthe difference.”Abner has seen the impact of a vibrant connection withRHEMA in his own life many times. “In this current economicdownturn,” he notes, “I haven’t lost one night’s sleep, becauseRHEMA taught me how to trust God’s Word.” Erhema.org | 11
