This made himthe first Cuban-American minister inhistory to open a session of legislature inWashington, D.C.ALUMNI SPOTLIGHTJoseph Bergeron, M.D. (’79, ’80)When Joseph Bergeron attended RBTC, heworked at Kenneth Hagin Ministries and alsoenjoyed a brief career with the studentmusical group “The Trumpets of Zion.” Aftergraduating, he worked in pastoral ministry and missionaryevangelism for seven years, but then made a life-changingdecision to attend medical school.Today, Dr. Bergeron is a specialist in Physical Medicine andRehabilitation—a specialty dedicated to treating neuromuscularinjuries and disabilities. Faith is an integral part of hispractice and he shares the Gospel with his patients wheneverhe can. Active in the Christian Medical and Dental Association,he has taken many short-term evangelism and medicalmission trips, including more than 15 trips to India.
