Our church has afood pantry ministry, and as families in thecommunity came to us for help with food, werealized that their teenagers weren’t beingministered to. We saw the need and came upwith the “Five-Day Frenzy Youth Camp” ideajust to reach out to these specific unchurchedyouth. For five consecutive days, we took 27teens to special events and just loved on them.We went to the beach, county parks, track andfield events, an outdoor activity center, and SixFlags. We also had them help us distribute food at an apartment community. The bigfinale was our regular youth service on Friday evening, where a powerful messagebrought salvation responses from 25 of the youth that participated.About . . . We conducted a weekly Backyard Bible Club at a trailerpark, then picked up children by bus for Sunday services. We taught the same curriculumtheme at both locations, reinforcing the truths of the Word. Children were given amini-devotional paper to takehome and received prizes forreturning the completed devotionalthe next Sunday. We alsofound that schools often needfacilities for various functions,such as training classes. Weoffered our church for this purposeas a means of openingdoors of communication. As aresult, the school used our facilitiesto conduct a mentoring programand foster parent trainingclasses.About . . .
