It has a staff offour full-time certified and state-licensed athletic trainersand two graduate assistant certified and state-licensed athletictrainers. Athletic Training students also gain clinicalexperience as they help serve the sports medicine needsof Creighton student-athletes.The mission of Creighton University Athletic Trainingis to serve as the initial allied health care provider forCreighton University student-athletes and to provide accessto other health care professionals as needed. Iwersen Strength and Conditioning Facility.The 4,000-square-foot facility in the Vinardi AthleticCenter gives Creighton student-athletes one of the fineststrength and conditioning facilities in the country for aschool that does not sponsor football.The facility features five Olympic platforms withcomplete sets of Olympic bumper plates, the most upto-dateweight training machines, a free weight area withDan Bailey over 10,000 pounds of weights, including a complete set ofStrength & Conditioning dumbbells, training equipment, aerobic training equipment,and video and audio systems to help the staff monitor andteach proper techniques.
