SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS1. INTRODUCTIONThe rally will be run in compliance with the National Sporting Code, FIAInternational Sporting Code <strong>and</strong> its appendices, the 2012 Cross-Country RallyGeneral Prescriptions, the <strong>Qatar</strong> Baja Championship regulations of the 2012<strong>and</strong> these Supplementary Regulations.Modifications, amendments <strong>and</strong>/or changes to these SupplementaryRegulations will be announced only by numbered <strong>and</strong> dated bulletins (issued bythe organizer or the stewards).The rally will be twinned with a motorcycle event with separate supplementaryregulations.The 2012 Cross-Country Rally General Prescriptions can be found at:http://www.fia.com/en-GB/sport/regulations/Pages/FIACross-CountryRallies.aspxIn the event of any dispute concerning the interpretation of these regulations,only the English text will be binding.2. SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS7. BRIEFINGThe 1 st briefing is compulsory for at least one of the members of the crew, whomust confirm his presence by signature.8. STARTThe crew must wear the homologated overalls.For the Start <strong>cars</strong> will be assembled in a pre-start area, not under the rules ofParc Fermé but where assistance is forbidden.The first car will start not less than 30 minutes after the last motorcycle.9. SELECTIVE SECTIONS14.1 Starting intervals2-minute intervals between each car.14.2 Starting system for selective sectionsA digital clock will be used twined <strong>and</strong> synchronised with a colour displaysystem: 30 seconds before the start time a red signal is shown, 5 seconds before the start time the signal turns into yellow finally, at the start time the signal turns into green.Should this start system fail the start will be given as follows: the startmarshal will count down aloud 30” - 15” - 10” <strong>and</strong> the last five seconds oneby one. When the last 5 seconds have elapsed, the starting signal shall begiven.A 2-minute penalty shall be imposed on any crew which fails to start aselective section within 20 seconds of the starting signal (art. 39.3 of the2012 Cross-Country Rally General Prescriptions). The start time of thecrew in question will not be modified.A vehicle which cannot start a selective section under its own power willbe given a penalty of 60 minutes.14.3 Passage controlsThe crews must stop at the passage controls in order to have their timecard stamped.<strong>Qatar</strong> Baja January SR Page 5

IDENTIFICATION OF OFFICIALSIdentification of Post Chiefs <strong>and</strong> marshalsThe Post Chief <strong>and</strong> marshals will be identified as follows: Post Chief Red tabard with the word "marshal” Marshal Yellow tabard with the word “marshal”14. PROTESTS AND APPEALS14.1 Protest FeesSum of the protest fee: 5000QR.If the protest requires the dismantling <strong>and</strong> re-assembly of a clearlydefined part of the car (engine, transmission, steering, braking system,electrical installation, bodywork, etc.), the claimant must pay anadditional deposit of 5000QR.If the protest requires the dismantling <strong>and</strong> re-assembly of different partsof a vehicle, the claimant must pay an additional deposit of 5000QR.14.2 Appeal FeesSum for the national appeal fee : 8000QR.<strong>Qatar</strong> Baja January SR Page 7
