Thecode is based on the 2009version of the InternationalBuilding Code. Weunderstand that the Abu DhabiDepartment of MunicipalAffairs (DMA) may be requiring special inspections offirestopping as an amendment to the code. We sent the2012 International Building Code language for specialinspections of firestopping that FCIA was successfulwith at the ICC Hearings for DMA to use as a reference.Efforts like this continue to improve the reliability ofinstalled firestopping in buildings. We met Ms. FatmaAmer at the FCIA Educational Seminar in Abu Dhabi,UAE last year.
