The unitsupports H.264, MPEG4, MxPEG and Motion JPEGvideo formats and is also compatible to theemerging ONViF standard and supports GigabitEthernet and WiFi connections.“Unlike other products that have simply hadtraditional interfaces added to a touch screenwhile still requiring additional NVR’s, storage orservers on site – every thing needed to run a fullrecord and monitoring station is within eachQuorum Touch,” explains Ritchie.Under normal conditions, the Touch will storearound 7 days of footage from 4 IP camerasrunning up to megapixel quality. The Touch usesthe same core platform as the rest of theQuorum range which allows control of auxiliarydevices such as door openers, alarm systems,lights, speaker phones, public address systemsand barriers to be integrated directly into theTouch interface. The unit has a wide range ofapplications but is particulary suited to retailpremises, gatehouses, reception areas and highvalue private premises.The unit will be sold exclusively to end usersthrough the channel and Codestuff is currently indiscussion with several prospective distributionpartners. The unit offers a flexible softwarelicensing model to allow competitive pricingbased on the selected feature set and is alsoavailable in an OEM version for rebranding.“We see Touch as the perfect solution forenvironments where complex CCTV managementsoftware would be inappropriate,” explainsRichie, “The touchscreen interface requiresminimal training to operate and the platform canalso be remotely managed and monitored overany IP connection.”Multiple Quorum Touch Units can be linked totogether for larger installation or to provide asecond control centre at another location on thesame site or over a network connection.
