Instructions for Completing the First Aid/CPR/AEDInstructor Course Online PrerequisitesThank you for registering for an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED instructor course. Youwill join the ranks of over 200,000 other instructors who help others prevent, prepare for andrespond to emergencies.Here is what you need to know about your course:The instructor course is offered in a blended-learning format with both an online component anda classroom component. The Resources for First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Candidates page(www.instructorscorner.org/facpraedcandidates) will provide you with the details of therequirements and access to everything needed to completed the online portion of this courseprior to the first classroom session.Course Materials A deluxe instructor kit is included in the course price. You will receive it at your firstclassroom session. You will have digital access to all the course materials needed to complete your onlinesession.Prerequisites to Enter the Classroom ComponentTo participate in the First Aid/CPR/AED instructor course, you must: Be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Possess current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and/or AED certification(s) or theequivalent. Successfully complete the online Orientation to the First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course.(available on www.instructorscorner.org/facpraedcandidates) Successfully complete the online First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Precourse Test (score 80percent or better). This test is offered online and you have unlimited attempts to completeit. Doing this willinterfere with launching.Note: Age and First Aid, CPR and AED certifications will be verified during your first classroomsession.Certification RequirementTo be certified as an instructor, you must: Successfully complete the prerequisite requirement. Attend and actively participate in all course sessions. Successfully complete class activities including two practice-teaching assignments. Score at least 80 percent (20 correct answers out of 25 questions) on the instructorwritten exam.
