Board members will explain key concerns to districtadministrators and then jointly develop action plans and time frames.MINUTESSTUDENTCOUNCIL REPORTSUPERINTENDENTREPORTAssistant Superintendent Dr. Smith discussed High School ProficiencyAssessment (HSPA) results and adequate yearly progress on No Child LeftBehind (NCLB) criteria. General education students received a 95.7% passingrate in Math and a 99.1% passing rate in Language Arts. The Special Educationsub-group met annual yearly progress (AYP) in Language Arts with a passing rateof 75.8% and just missed achieving AYP in Math with a passing rate of 51.5%.Several possible approaches to increase the Special Education sub-grouppassing rates were discussed. Board members asked Dr. Smith to analyzeSpecial Education program test results.Correspondence:Susan Mule – Thank you.Nancy Stevens-Kagan – Thank you.CORRESPON-DENCEResident’s Forum – Agenda Items:Mr. Delmonte requested additional information on the professional conferencemotion.
