(PR:WIW)Benedict, Tristan: A male human and one of colonists involved in the Domes Epsilon incident inthe mid-80s of the 24 th century. Benedict grew up in the Chicago centerplex on Earth, where he metPhilip Philipakos during his childhood. <strong>The</strong> two went to the same school and became close friends.This friendship endured during their youth and early adulthood, and when Benedict was in need of ajob, Philipakos offered him a place on the botanic space colony Domes Epsilon, of which he wasadministrator. However, it soon became apparent that Benedict was a slacker, which drew him thedisdain of the other colonist. He kept his job, however, as Philipakos, due to their friendship, wasunable to take the appropriate measures. During his years on Domes Epsilon, Benedict discoveredthe hallucinogenic qualities of the Sinjaba plant and spent more and more time intoxicated insteadof working. During the Domes Epsilon incident, Benedict was the first colonist to be killed by theXenomorphs during one of his stays in the Sinjaba garden, to be later found by Call and Shepherdas the evacuation of the station went underway. (A:OS)Benjamin, Matthew: A male human and a flitter mechanic. After working for Weyland-Yutani fora few months, Benjamin was reassigned to a Weyland-Yutani research station on the planet C-3L/M in 2232, as the replacement for Victor Standish, the staff engineer. While this assignmentseemed to make no sense due to Benjamin's inexperience with advanced engineering, it was part ofWeyland-Yutani's efforts to root out a Planetus spy at the facility and take over Planetus. CharlesBraley, the man behind the whole scheme, replaced the entire staff in a similar fashion until only thespies remained from the original roster. He proceeded to kill both the spies and the new staff, includingBenjamin, by using robotic Chestbursters in order to fake an <strong>Alien</strong> infestation on the planetas part of a master plan to acquire Planetus. <strong>The</strong>se events would become known as the C-3 L/M incident.(A:NE)Betty: A battered old freighter operated by Frank Elgyn and his crew of smugglers in the late 24 thcentury. Named after Betty Grable and sported a painting of her on its hull. When exactly the shipwas built is unknown, but rumors persist that it is over 200 years old. Powered by Lockmart Specialsand equipped with limited space defense capabilities. <strong>The</strong> ship was also outfitted with an adaptabledocking hatch which made boarding operations to almost every target possible.<strong>The</strong> Betty and its crew was involved in the Auriga incident, delivering stolen cryotubes with humanbodies to the Auriga research vessel in 2381 to be used as hosts to cultivate a Xenomorph colony.When the outbreak aboard started, the Betty was still docked to the Auriga and was later used by thesurvivors to flee the Auriga shortly before its destruction. After purging the stowaway Newbornfrom its docking bay, the Betty was safely landed on Earth. <strong>The</strong> Betty was also used by Ripley 8 andthe reformed crew of the ship on their raid for information about the Loki organization and duringthe Domes Epsilon incident in the years that followed. (A:RES, A:OS)Bio-Replicator Pod: A device used for replicating seeds and plants for use on colony worlds. Inventedand manufactured by Weyland Industries. First introduced in 2058, the Bio-Replicator Podunderwent dramatic enhancements and improvements during the following decade. By the 2070s,the device was one cubic foot in size and featured a database of over 40 million samples, able toreplicate seeds and grow it at a rate of 55 percent compared to natural plants, given ideal local conditions.<strong>The</strong> Bio-Replicator Pod can be installed for both civilian and industrial use, for example incombination with a seeder for colonial agriculture.
