September 2, 2009 SVR board meetingby Kim Nelson, SVR SecretaryPresident Cookie Anderson called the meeting to order at6:33PM.Attending: Mike Willis, Kim Nelson, Cookie Anderson, DougKlein, Babette Hatten, John Murphy, Betty Silva, Lee Deter, HelenAshuckian, Ray Silva, Frederick Rauch, Bill KeeganMinutes: The August minutes were reviewed and accepted.OLD BUSINESS:Board Member Badges: The Board agreed that badges for nextyear’s Board Members should be similar to the ones from severalyears ago where the title was larger. Doug has the authority tomake minor changes such as badge size and typeface as he sees fit.Double signatures on SVR Checks: Doug reported after talkingwith our bank (Wells Fargo) that bank personnel cannot consistentlyensure our checks are signed by two SVR board members.A motion was made and seconded that starting in 2010 thePresident and Treasurer will have signing authority on all clubaccounts, but only one signature will be required per check. Additionally,both the President and Treasurer will have on-line accessto view the accounts and the President will have access toSVR checks in the absence <strong>of</strong> the Treasure. The motion passed bya margin <strong>of</strong> 5 to 3.NEW BUSINESS:President Manual Progress: Cookie noted that she still needswrite-ups on Competition, Secretary, President and Vice PresidentBoard positions.Christmas Party: Kim gave an update on this year’s SVR ChristmasParty at Niello <strong>Porsche</strong> on December 12 th. The budgetfor the event was presented and then modified by the Board toinclude the “SVR Board Stimulus Package”. The “Stimulus Package”basically reduces the cost <strong>of</strong> the party to $25.00 per personwith the balance being paid for by the club. The Board obviouslyhad a good time discussing the Stimulus Package – a motion toheavily subsidize the Christmas Party was made, seconded andunanimously approved by the Board.New Members Group and G24: Doug Klein and Lee Deterpresented a thoroughly prepared document to combine the NewMember program with the G24 program. The Board requesteda few minor changes be made and then approved the programunanimously.November 3rd Class on How to plan an SVR Driving Tourand host a Dinner: Bill discussed a training event geared towardhelping people learn how to put on Dinner Meetings and DrivingTours. A $50.00 budget was requested and unanimously approvedby the Board.SVR’s Annual Planning Meeting: Bill suggested we move SVR’sAnnual Planning Meeting to February or March in an effort toget more club members to participate. The Board feels the ideahas merit and suggested waiting to decide on the date until ourZone Rep. announces the first 2010 Presidents Meeting.BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:Charity: Tambra KroetzNo report.Competition: Frederick RauchNo report.Advertising: Mike WillisMike reported that A&S BMW currently plans to discontinueDrifter Advertising next year.Drifter: JR EvingerNo report.Financial Report: Betty SilvaBetty reported that the club is financially strong and has moneyin the bank.G24: Lee DeterNo report.Goodie Store: Tom SissonReport received and approved.Membership Director: Doug KleinSVR has 574 primary members with 470 affiliate members for atotal <strong>of</strong> 1044. The club also has 6 dual members. We had no newmembers last month and 2 members transferred out.Social Director: Babette HattenThe Board unanimously approved budgets for the November16th dinner meeting and the November 8th Reiff Driving Tour.The Board also discussed the cost <strong>of</strong> dinner meetings and unanimouslyapproved to suspend the $1 to $2 per person currentlyrequired to cover SVR overhead expenses through July <strong>of</strong> 2010.Tech Chair: Jim KinnicuttNo report.Webmaster: John MurphyThe total number <strong>of</strong> hits to our website continues to decline as itseems most people are using the bimonthly Events Calendar foractivity information.
