Diagnosed Health ProblemsOur survey also asked respondents about their long-term health conditions, as diagnosedby a health professional. As presented in Table 25, the three most frequently reported healthconditions for nurses in our study were allergies, back problems excluding arthritis, and migraineheadaches. When combined, close to one-fifth of our respondents had either carpal tunnelsyndrome or other work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Many of the diagnosed healthquestions asked in the survey replicated the questions in the National Population Health Survey(1998).
