This yearwe decided to go a little farther in our plan tosupport the local charities that help and supportour brothers and sisters that are not as fortunateas we. A dinner was held on May 21 and our localorganizations were represented to dine with usand receive our checks for their individualorganizations. In the past we just delivered thechecks. This time we thought it would be nice tohave our Brothers see the faces represented bythese organizations. We contribute to them twicea year, Spring and Fall. Some of our membersWoman's Resource Centre and Food Bank. Thisgiving represents most of our contributions givenlocally. These are not the only contributions wemake in a years time. We also give to Arthritisand other causes sponsored by Grand Lodge..... ~ -',; ... '.~-~/-.\.._'.look on while I had the honor of presenting thecheck to Bill Haner, President of the board ofMeals on Wheels. My wife presents the check toCindy Biek, Development Director for CentreVolunteers in Medicine. My honors again with theCaptains from State College Salvation Army. Patand Char1es Neidemeyer. Art Moyer presents toAlpha Fire Company and Centre Life LinkAmbulance service. Bob Homan presents toGuidelines from God3. TRUST ME:Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit tryingto take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faiththat I will take care of all your needs, yourprobl'ems and your trials. Problems with the kids?Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put iton My list. Problems with your emotional rollercoaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to!help you. All you have to do is ask.See you in church .

Kantz, 90, ofSelinsgrove, was initiated intoSelinsgrove Lodge # 197 on May 3, 1960. He became a member ofAugusta Lodge No. 551, Dornsife through the consolidation in2001. He became a Past Grand at Augusta on October 16, 1984. Heformerly held membership in the formerShikellamy EncampmentNo.33. Hewas also a memberofthe Tri-County Past Grands Associationwhere he received the Odd Fellow oftheYear Award in 1987. He wasalso a Past Director ofthe Odd Fellows Home ofPA, Middletown.He was a member ofWitmer's U.M. Church, Port Treverton.He is survived by his wifeof67 years the former Araminta Wise,three grandsons, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sisterand a son-in-law.Burial was in the First Witmer's Cemetary, Port Treverton.JOHN McLAUGHLIN East Brunswick Lodge No. 802 May 5,2007 Brother John McLaughlin, 90, formerly ofTamaqua, was initiatedinto Harmony Lodge #86, Tamaqua on October 23, 1944. He becamea Past Grand of that Lodge and received his Grand Lodge Degreein October of1948. He became a member ofEast Brunswick Lodge#802, New Ringgold in 1987. At the lime of his death he also heldAssociate membership in the re-instituted Harmony Lodge #86,Tamaqua. He was a member and Past Chief Patriarch of ScottEncampment # 132, Tamaqua and a former Trustee of the OddFellows Cemetary ofTamaqua.He was a member of the First U.M. Church, Tamaqua andpreceded in death by his wife, the former Marion Rothermel.He is survived by one daughter, two sons, three grandchildren,five great-grandchildren and one brother.
