Fun and Simple Activities that Promote
Connection and Calm for you and your Child
For parents with children up to 5 years
With Robin Goldstein-Lincoln, psychotherapist and parent educator
The storm of tantrums, protests and power struggles are so common
among young children, and so exhausting and frustrating for us parents.
Knowing some simple and fun activities that promote calm can help ward
off the storm and promote connection. During this interactive 90 minute
workshop, participants will learn:
• How to notice early signs of “dys-regulation”
• Simple and fun activities and snacks that promote connection and calm
• How to integrate “regulating” activities and foods throughout the day
• How to redirect misbehavior into a regulating activity
Thursday, May 3 | 9:30 - 11 am
$12 per person | $22 per couple
childcare available for $4 per child.
Hazon’s Setting the table: Healthy and
Sustainable Cooking for Busy Jewish Families
For parents of children up to 10 years
With Jessica Hersh, Sweet Pea Cuisine
Join us for a two part cooking and learning series in which you will:
• Learn how to cook fresh, seasonal and delicious meals
• Engage with ancient and contemporary text, tradition and culture
• Create a solid foundation to raise your family
• Connect with other Jewish families in Boulder County
• Prepare food to freeze and eat with your family
The first class will be centered around food relationships and holidays
(specifically Passover). We’ll discuss the relationships that we hope to
have with our children at the dinner table, and how both food relationships
from Jewish tradition and contemporary research can nurture your family.
The second class will be focused on Shabbat as a ritual. The practice of
eating Shabbat dinner together as a family is a way for families to establish
a routine of coming together around the table in a Jewish way. We’ll make
food that works well for Shabbat, including delicious homemade Challah,
and will discuss rituals that families will find meaningful around their own
Shabbat table.
