requisite or co-requisite requirement may be waived
by tiie Head;
(b) the candidate is nd exduded by any restridion that
may be imposed on ttie numtier of candidates to be
enrolled in that subject;
(c) ttie subjed is available in tiie nominated session or
sessions, or in modular form;
(d) the candidate is not suspended, exduded or expelled
from any tertiary institution;
(e) Coundl has detenmined that there are appropriate and
suffident personnel and resources to enabte ttie
candtoate to undertake the subject; and
(f) the candidate is not indebted to the University.
Except with approval, a candidate may nd enrol in ttie same,
or substantially the same, subjed more than twice.
Except witti approval, a candidate shall not enrol in an annual
program with a value of less ttian 12 credit points excepting
ttiat a candidate who needs tess ttian 12 aedit points to
complete a course must enrol for all subjeds needed to
complete that course.
Except with approval, a candidate shall not enrol in a program
which, for that candidate:
(a)

in ttie first autumn session and ttie first spring
session of registration for a bachelor degree other
than ttie degree of Bachelor of Laws, has a value ttiat
exceeds:
(A) 48 credit points for ttie aufomn session and
the spring session combined;
(B) 24 aedit points for autumn session;
(C) 24 credit points for spring session;
in ttie subsequent sessions of registration for a
bachelor degree other than ttie degree of Bachelor of
Laws, has a value that exceeds either
(i)
(ii)
(A) 52 aedit points for the autumn session
and ttie spring session (xmbined;
(B) 30 aedit points for autumn session;
(C) 30 aedit points for spring session;
(D) 14 credit points for summer session;
or
a presaibed program for:
(A) a year by more than 4 aedit points;
(B) autumn session by more ttian 6 aedit
points;
(C) spring session by more ttian 6 aedit
points;
(D) summer session by more than 2 aedit
points;
in any session of registration for a course teading to
ttie award of ttie degree of Bachelor of Laws either
alone or as part of an approved doubte degree course,
has a value that exceeds:
(A) 32 aedit points for any autumn or spring
session;
(B) 14 aedit points for summer session;
in any session of registration for a postgraduate
course either
(i) has a value ttiat exceeds:
(A) 54 aedit points for ttie aufomn
session and ttie spring session
combined;
(B) 30 aedit points for autumn session;
(C) 30 aedit points for spring session;
(D) 14 aedit points for summer session;
or
(ii) exceeds a prescribed program for:
(A) a year by more than 4 credit points;
(B) aufomn session by more ttian 6
aedit points;
(C) spring session by more than 6 credit
points;
(D) summer session by more ttian 2
aedit points;
(e) for a course comprising modular subjeds, exceeds
24 aedit points at any period in time.
(6) For ttie purposes of Rule 005(5), half tiie value of a double
session subjed shall be deemed to be taken in each of the two
sessions during which the subjed is offered and one third ttie
value of a triple session subjed shall be deemed to be taken in
each of ttie ttiree sessions during which the subjed is offered
(7) A candtoate enrolled in a subjed in contravention of ttie
conditions for enrolment specified in the appropriate Schedule
shall be withdrawn from tiiat subjed unless pennitted by the
Head to remain enrolled.
(8) A candidate who, in a particular year, is not pennitted to enrol
in a subjed pursuant to these Rules may apply for permission
to enrol in a subsequent year.
(9) A candidate who is refosed continuation of registration,
through suspension, exclusion or expulsion as prescribed in
Attachment B following these Rules, may not enrol in any
subjed.
006. Schedules of Subjects and Research Subjects
Subjeds approved for courses referred to in Rule 001 (3) and (4) are
listed in ttiie Schedules in Attachment Z following ttiese Rutes. The
Schedules are:
Undergraduate Schedutes:
(a) Schedule Z1 for bachelor degrees; and
Postgraduate Schedute:
(b) Schedule Z2 for postgraduate courses.
007. Variation of Registration
(1) After consultation with an Academic Adviser a candtoate may
apply to the Vice-Prindpal (Administration) for pennission to
change registration from one course to another.
(2) Penmission for a candidate to change regisfration is contingent
upon any restridion ttiat may be imposed on ttie number d
candidates to be registered for a particular course.
(3) Variation of enrolment assodated with change of regisfration
is contingent upon restridions imposed by relevant provisions
of Rutes 005 and 008.
(4) Upon change of registration, a candidate becomes subject to
Rules relating to the course to which registration is changed.
(5) At ttie end of a session, a candidate for a postgraduate degree
under Part 5 or 6 of ttiese Rules or for an honours bachelor
degree may apply to change candidature from foil time to part
time or from part time to foil time.
(6) At any time prior to the submission of the ttiesis in the retevant
research subjed, a candtoate for an honours masters degree
may apply to change registration to a dodoral degree.
(7) Except witti approval to ttie contrary, restridions imposed on
enrolment or registration of a candidate prior to, or at die time
of a change of registration shall continue to apply after change
of registration For a candtoate for an undergraduate course,
Rute 011(2)(b) will apply immediately upon change rf
registration shouto there be no provisions to ttie contrary.
