Community Recognition<br />
<strong>VCS</strong> continues to be recognized in the community for many of its initiatives.<br />
A few of the awards and recognitions received in 2010 include:<br />
� Arts Council of Rockland awarded a Community Grant to support LGBT<br />
events.<br />
� The Chazen Foundation continued its invaluable financial support for<br />
<strong>VCS</strong>.<br />
� The Avon Foundation awarded a grant to support counseling for victims<br />
of domestic violence.<br />
� Nice Pak/PDI Corporation was the event sponsor for the 2010 <strong>VCS</strong> Golf<br />
Tournament to Prevent Child Abuse.<br />

Honors and awards received in 2010:<br />
� In May, Gail Golden was asked to be a Marshall in the Haitian Unity<br />
Day Parade. <strong>VCS</strong> was given an award at the parade for its support of<br />
the Haitian Community.<br />
� In June, Pat Hayes was honored by the <strong>VCS</strong> Board of Directors at our<br />
annual meeting for her many years of service.<br />
� In June, Gail Golden received an award from the Hudson Valley Chapter<br />
of the New York Civil Liberties Union for her work on behalf of<br />
immigrants.<br />
