Under thisproject various departments located outsidethe Secretariat will be connected usingwireless LAN. The wireless nodes will sharethe existing 2 MBPS leased line gatewayconnectivity of NIC.| Sub-Division Network ProjectUnder this project, the 23 sub-divisions of thestate will have network/Internet connectivity.The sites will either have VSAT connectivity orLAN extension, depending upon distance fromthe nearest CIC. This project will give a boostto e-Governance in the state as many of theGovt. services are offered through SDO offices.| State Data CentreA data centre consisting of Secured NetworkInfrastructure and Storage Area Network(SAN) is being set up in the Civil Secretariatby NIC. Under the State Data Center, it isenvisaged to have a state level Application,Database, Mail and Web server along withfirewall and authentication server. TheSh. T L Rajkumar during valedictorysession of a DONER sponsored training programmecapacity of data centre will be 1 TB.| Community Information CentreThe establishment of CICs has extended thereach of the IT revolution to this regionand has a potential to boost all-rounddevelopment of the state. People from allwalks of life namely, students, doctors,teachers, engineers, Govt. officials,businessmen, and general public utiliseCICs for their various needs. Some of theservices being offered at the CIC are E-mail/Internet, computer awarenesstrainings, conducting online examinationsfor CCC course of DOEACC, Govt. to Citizen(G2C) Services such as eSuvidha, IncomeCertificate issue, BPL surveycomputerization etc. Local jobadvertisement is also disseminated throughCIC websites. The state government hasfixed nominal fees for the services providedby the CICs.| AGMARKNETThe NICNET Based Agricultural MarketingInformation Network (AGMARKNET)facilitates all Agriculture ProduceMarketing Committees (APMCs) todisseminate market information for thebenefit of farmers and other targetgroups. AGMARKNET has been implementedin Arunachal Pradesh where six APMCs(Itanagar, Pasighat, Tawang, Roing, Tezuand Ziro) are covered under the project,and as part of the expansion programme,networking of another five APMCs (Miao,Along, Daporijo, Bomdila and Khonsa) andState Agriculture Marketing Board isunderway.| Support of NIC and CICduring electionsThe conduct of Elections inArunachal Pradesh is alwaysan uphill task due to acutecommunication bottlenecksresulting from geographicalvastness and difficult terrainof the state. The State andDistrict administrations getimportant assistance fromthe NIC Units, which act asinformation hub during theelections. The CICs are alsopressed into service forassisting in the electionprocess under the technicalguidance of NIC officers.Moreover, NIC has hosted the website ofthe Chief Electoral Officer http://ceoarunachal.nic.in, and also contributes inelection result transmission under NIC-Doordarshan election result transmissionproject. All this has enabled in overcomingthe difficulties and conduct the elections ina more efficient way.| Video-ConferencingIn Arunachal Pradesh, one VideoConferencing Studio is functioning at StateCivil Secretariat Complex, Itanagar andsimilar facilities are coming up at all 16District HQ of the state and one at the RajBhawan.| Web ServicesThe website registration and hosting forstate government departments is donepresently at state-of-the-art NIC HQ webservers. Remote updation facilities are alsobeing provided to the user departments overVPN. NIC Arunachal also undertakes webapplication development on request fromgovernment departments.| E-Mail and InternetNIC provides Internet connectivity and e-mail services to government departments.Till now more than 300 e-mail accounts atthe local e-mail server http://arun.nic.inhave been created for government officials.The mail server is available 24 X 7.It is worth mentioning that the NIC districtcentres are helping the districtadministration in various computerizationactivities, training, Internet connectivity,CIC management and other ICT support.Some district centres have developed andimplemented applications like Inner LinePermit, Trade License, Arms License,Succession Certificate etc. Activities of NICin the state have created an atmospherefor implementation of e-Governance andhave paved the way for the StateGovernment and administration to do morein this area.For further information, contact:Sh.
