RESEARCHThe synthesis between teaching and research is fundamental to LUMSA University.All the academic staff are involved in basic and applied research. The <strong>Department</strong>has won and managed a great number <strong>of</strong> projects <strong>of</strong> excellence at an Italian level,such as PRINs, Research Projects <strong>of</strong> National Interest awarded by the Ministry <strong>of</strong>Scientific Research. On a European level, it has been project leader or partner in theLLP Programme, Erasmus, Leonardo, Grundtvig, Joint-Actions, Intensive Programme,Youth in Action and Daphne project.Consultancy and pr<strong>of</strong>essional training are developed for public institutions, privatecompanies, third sector organizations, and the local communities.INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSLUMSA University welcomes visiting pr<strong>of</strong>essors and international students from all overthe world. It has signed Erasmus agreements with 153 European universities.In an intellectually lively environment, high-caliber teachers prepare students to givetheir best, foster their creativity and enter the world <strong>of</strong> work with a high level <strong>of</strong>pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism.LUMSA University has been awarded by the EuropeanCommission with two Labels <strong>of</strong> excellence: the ECTS(European Credit Transfer System) Label and the DS (DiplomaSupplement) Label.RESOURCES AND FACILITIESStudents have access to a variety <strong>of</strong> resources which meettheir needs efficiently and allow them to spend their academiclife successfully. Libraries and DB resources, PC rooms, WiFi,radio and TV laboratories, housing services, and much, muchmore, are available for Italian and international students.All students are <strong>of</strong>fered opportunities for one-on-one, small-group interaction with teachers. Financial aid programs from theItalian State as well as private donors ensure that talented students from all economic backgrounds can study at LUMSA.In the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Studies</strong>, education is linked to values, and the development <strong>of</strong> the entire human person is a priorityobjective.
